What we are looking for:
The Field Engineer is responsible for gathering the necessary field information regarding aerial, buried, or underground OSP telecommunications cables and associated facilities for facilitating the design of work orders to place new network cables, utility poles, hand holes, terminal cabinets, etc., or to rearrange or modify the existing network.

Requirements to perform this job include:
- Previous experience as a field engineer or similar role is desired.
- Clear understanding of and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication skills including verbal, written, and drawing.
- This position requires a considerable amount of physical effort including walking for long periods.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, variable hours, and occasional weekends.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with various tools to measure heights and distances of OSP.
Responsibilities required for this job include:
- Communicate with designers to determine needs of the job.
- Conduct job site research.
- Determine best pathway for cable placement and inform designer of any roadblocks.
- Deliver neat and accurate field notes to the designer.
- Identify other utilities that may be in conflict and note in field notes.
- Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
